Grand Canyon

Have we become nature snobs? The grand canyon seemed to be just that "grand." Massive crowds, temperatures nearing zero and unhikable trails (we hadn't bought "yaktrax" yet) all made for a semi-lackluster destination. One highlight was an almost too near encounter with a 6 point Elk.  It was a night's entertainment, seeing how close people dared to get...and how much patience the Elk had before attempting to spar them!  Sorry no photos, just memories.  The canyon held an undeniable beauty that should be seen by all, albeit difficult to photograph. But after 2 nights of helping ourselves to the dwindling fireplace and plush couches in the El Tovar lodge we journeyed onto the ever beautiful Zion NP. Here are a few glimpses of what we could capture.
